Recruitment consultants insulted by PR firm

by John Bult last modified 2008-08-29 12:42

In a recent article a PR firm has compared recruitment consultants to wasps and claimed that employers and candidates shouldn't use them.

In an odd statement the PR man, Paul Carroll explains that he thinks recruitment consultants are like wasps in that they have no clear purpose.  The statement clearly wouldn't build any kind of public rations with the recruitment industry but also seems to defy the test of time.

Companies have used recruitment consultants for years to help them find the best possible staff.  It is somewhat insulting to companies everywhere to suggest the practice they have used for years is in fact a poor one.  Of course, the reason the recruitment industry is thriving is that many really do find recruitment consultants a great help and give them the edge in sourcing the best people too help them grow their business.

In the current climate of economic slowdown, the recruitment industry is doing better than ever.  Having the right  staff may be the key to survival so when recruiting every advantage you can gain counts.
