HR recruitment agencies may have best year ever.

by John Bult last modified 2008-09-07 07:41

Hr recruitment agencies may have the best year they have had in some time as an unexpected effect of the credit crunch in the UK.

Large companies in all sorts of sectors are having to run extensive downsizing operations often involving mass redundancies and compensation packages.  At present they don't have the staff to achieve this and also don't have the means to find the good people they need quickly.  Consequently they are turning to recruitment agencies for help.

There appear to be several effects of the credit crunch, all of which may way for HR recruitment agencies to make more money.  In addition to an increase in the demand for HR staff, there are also reports of dramatic rises in salaries and companies bid to attract good staff on board quickly.  Also, Hr recruitment agency Joslin Rowe have reported a shortening of the recruitment process, recording an average time between receiving the vacancy and placement as being  down to  a two week window.  This time frame can often been critical in loosing recruitment processes along the way.

Given the plight of so many other recruitment agencies, such as Hays having lost 400 heads so far this, we may see some of the big players looking to enter the HR recruitment market.
